A bit about the gal behind the camera
Hello! I’m Theodora but you can call me Thea.
I’m a Dutch-Canadian photographer and visual artist who has come to call Scotland home. I have a broad art and design background alongside having completed extensive training in both commercial and fine art photography across North America and Europe. My style is underpinned by a love for colour and creating images with a dreamy yet vibrant quality that shows the world and the beauty within it. My personal visual art practice primarily revolves around exploring the natural world, notions of home and mental health. In 2018 I graduated from The Glasgow School of Art with a Master of Design in Photography and have worked full-time as a freelance photographer since.
I work with a broad client base from environmental non-profits, to artists/creatives and brands/businesses. I’m particularly passionate about portraiture, photographing out on location and working with individuals or companies who value inclusivity, sustainability, the outdoors, wellness, and hold high ethics.
In my spare time I love writing, going on big or small adventures, sewing my own clothes, painting, listening to way too many true-crime podcasts for my own good, wild swimming, climbing, and going on picnics in the warmer months. I grew up near the Canadian Rockies so I feel most at home surrounded by mountains and I love any excuse to get out to the Scottish Highlands on my days off. I recently started sharing about my experiences navigating my love for the outdoors as someone with chronic illness and how I use nature as a way to improve my mental health on my Journal.
