Pom Pom Quarterly Issue 39 Winter 2021
Pom Pom was founded in 2012 as a quarterly that presents knitting, crochet, and craft in the modern, beautiful, and meaningful way we’ve always known it should be. Mainly conceived as a collection of patterns complemented by thoughtful writing and useful tutorials, we also celebrate the joy of making, hopefully without taking ourselves too seriously!
My friend and frequent collaborator Lydia Morrow was hired on to do the creative direction for Pom Pom’s 39th issue. I was delighted when Lydia asked if I’d like to work with her to bring her vision to life through the photography. The winter issue was shot on a warm July day at Habiib which is a gorgeous showroom in Glasgow with so many amazing vintage pieces. My photographs are the bulk of Issue 39’s interior content as well as the cover image. We photographed a variety of lifestyle themed images in the space at Habiib as well as images with two plain coloured backdrops to clearly highlight the knitwear for the patterns included in the issue. Thank you to Pom Pom for trusting Lydia and I, and I hope all the readers enjoy our hard work :)
