10 Facts about me

I’ve come to realise I haven’t posted much about me on this site and I wanted to change that in 2021!

The pandemic has caused a lot of aspects in our lives to slow down or face some upheaval and this holds true to my creative life as well. Although it’s a bit hard not being as busy with work and projects, I’m finally feeling a bit more motivated towards doing more personal work again and to go out and make new prints which is something I’d strayed away from a tiny bit after finishing my Masters degree (a well earned break). I’m hoping in the coming months to start producing and sharing some new projects I’ll be starting soon and as they will be more personal I figured an introduction beyond my about page would be nice.

10 facts

  1. I have dual citizenship with Canada and The Netherlands.

  2. I grew up next to the Canadian Rocky Mountains and although I consider myself generally more of a city girl I feel a really strong pull to visit nature frequently and have a soft spot for anywhere mountainous. I especially love any excuse to go to the Scottish Highlands!

  3. I have lived in 7 cities across 4 countries with majority of my adult life spent living in Scotland.

  4. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but before becoming a full-time photographer I had only ever worked in boutique bakeries and French patisseries.

  5. I love corgis, I grew up with one and they’ll always be my favourite.

  6. Flowers and plants make me very happy. I quite literally stop to smell the flowers on outings, I’m often found at Botanic Gardens or green spaces, and have an ever growing collection of dried bouquets and house plants.

  7. I taught myself to sew and have started making my own clothes.

  8. I’ll often choose a podcast or audio book over music and definitely listen to way more true crime podcasts than I should.

  9. I love bright and colourful things though I often have a habit of wearing all black.

  10. When the weather is good one of my favourite things is to have a picnic outdoors with friends or to just lay out on a blanket in a park and read.
